POLICE say masked gunmen have opened fire on four luxury 4WDs as they left the parking lot of an airport in northern Honduras, killing six men and wounding another three.
Police commissioner Julian Hernandez said the assailants were waiting for the men at La Mesa international airport in San Pedro Sula.
Mr Hernandez said the victims have not been identified and most were in their 20s.
Police are trying to determine the motive for the attack.
He said the victims were apparently also carrying weapons but police found none on them, perhaps because the assailants took them.
The attack took place on Friday.
