Boy arrested in Cambridge over cycle hit-and-run injury

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a pedestrian was seriously injured as a cyclist crashed into him in Cambridge and then rode away.

The 31-year-old victim was with a group walking along a footpath in Jesus Green, away from the nearby lock bridge, on Friday, 16 April.  He is in a critical condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

A 15-year-old was earlier arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and perverting the course of justice.  He is currently in custody at Parkside police station. The cyclist, who was heading in the opposite direction, was unseated in the collision but got up and rode away.  The victim had been walking with a group of friends.
